Me and my friend are trying to complile a list of "dating rules" that people have like with girls, a friends ex is off limmits or wiht guys, you cant date a friends sister? waht are some other rules that you and your friends have?

Never say " I love you" first to a man. Let him say it first.
Never show a man that you love him too much.
Do not let your life revolve around your boyfriend find other things you are passionate about
Do not be financially dependent on a boyfriend make your own money as he will respect you more for it. And if it does not work out, you can always take care of yourself.
See how he treats his sister and mother. Most likely that's the way, he will treat you.
Give him his space. Do not call him constantly as he will be tired of you.
When in a relationship listen to people who care about you, like parents and close friends as they might see the flaws of your boyfriend and girlfriend that you are not able to see since you are in love.
Do not ever let your boyfriend or girlfriend abuse you physically, emotionally. You can always do better.

Honesty, manners, mystery, good sense of humour, respect his friends and his mother (I learnt that one the hard way), give them space as well and don't seem too available. Don't drop everything at the last moment to be with him and he'll see you as not having a life of your own.

I don't think there should be rules. If you like them then go for it. I don't believe in these "rules".

1. never text, call, im w/e it is first
2. dont go by your friends opinions, chose for yourself
3. you can hook up whenever you want.

my rule is never ever swap spit in public. no matter how much your in love. dont be all over each other where people see it. tacky
