Its time to get your little out of bed around 7am every morning, and getting used to a set time for nap or quiet time, after that make sure your little one has plenty of out side exercise running and around and playing outside is a sure way to tire out toddlers and a good dinner, bath then read a story and nightlight on and your out of there. Hope it helps. I have twins it worked for them.

Establish a set bedtime for Every night. Also make sure that if they are still napping it needs to be consistent and by no means longer than 2 hours. I have a 4 year old with an 8 pm bedtime who gets up at 6 during the week and 7 on the weekend. She naps usually in between 12 and 2.

Why are they staying up so late? A toddler needs between 11-14 hours of sleep a day (including nap). A three-year-old should be going to bed between 7-8pm at night, sleeping through until about 6-7am. You need to start him on a consistent routine so that he can turn his hours around. Make sure that you are doing a consistent night time routine (bath, read a story, drink of water, kiss goodnight) each night so that he begins to expect the routine. This will help you to get him into the idea of doing things on a schedule.

You are THE PARENT. You are letting him run the show. PUt him in bed at bedtime, be that 8pm or whatever, and make him stay there, even if he doesn't sleep. Decide when you would like him to get up in the morning and get him up at that time, even if he's asleep. After a week or two of this he should adjust to his new mommy-enforced schedule. Come on, BE THE PARENT!

Don't let him nap at all during the day. Then he will be more tired by bedtime. Don't give him any caffeine or refined sugar, or allow him to be overstimulated before bedtime. Make sure he is active in the afternoon, several hours before bed, but not right before.

NOT GOOD. IS THIS CHILD GETTING ENOUGH EXERCISE DURING THE DAY? ARE YOU OFFERING UP SUGAR-LADEN SNACKS BEFORE BEDTIME? HAVE YOU TRIED SETTING THE SAME ROUTINE EACH NIGHT, LIKE STORYTIME BEFORE BED?
