Walter Smith(as a advisor) & Ally McCoist and Ian Durrant in the seat

First of all I hope they don't leave the Scotland job because it's been eight years since Scotland qualified for a big tournament and Walter Smith is doing a great job.
Secondly, This is the result of Rangers going seven years without buying any real talent and expecting it to work.
Lastly, No matter what manager Rangers get they will not win the league next year. If you look at Le Guen's record for Lyon he lost his first 9 games in charge of Lyon before winning all the thropies in France.
Whoever takes over at Rangers has to expect poor players, no money and demanding fans.
Simply put, Rangers are Scotland's answer to Newcastle United. No matter what happens it will not get any better.
Too many managers have tryed and fail.
McLeish did a great job at Rangers, winning seven trophies and it was still not enough and because of the negative comments from Rangers fans the player have stopped trying because they now know it will never be enough.
How many teams do you know that win a treble and still want the manager sacked that season?
As a Scotsman, I look and laugh at England walking in to the world cup and thinking they should win it because they are England. Rangers start the SPL season expecting to win things without trying because they are Rangers, well it's simply not good enough.
I can't see Rangers doing anything big in the next five seasons and if Hearts were not in crisis at the moment, Rangers would be struggling to make the top 4.
The players, board, coaches and fans need to look at themself and ask themself "I'm I doing enough to help the club."
The teams not playing well, the coaches can't seem to send out a message to the players, the board have little money and the fans have giving Rangers a bad reputation around europe.
So no one can't honestly say "yes, I'm doing enough" because they are ALL helping to destroy Rangers once proud history.
It's as simple as that.

Firstly, read Michael M's answer you idiot!
Secondly, If Smith takes the Rangers job he is a fool. he will have no money to work with and a decent Celtic team to compete with, exactly the opposite of in the past. Why would he want to go back when it could only bring failure? Maybe Coisty and Durrant will take over in the interim but i'm sure it will be another disasterous appointment until The Rangers fans wake up and realise that this has been the road that you have been headed on since Dastardly Dick Advocaat and the Dutch Revolution were in charge!
Lets face it, after Le Guen, McLeish didn't do a bad job after all now, did he?

Hopefully Walter Smith will come back to where he belongs, and bring Ally McCoist with him as his assistant. Then next season the league will be in the bag easily!!!
Unfortunately I don't think this will happen, I think Walter will continue to be the Scotland manager, and we will get another foreign, overpaid 'duffer' as manager AGAIN.....

I hope not - its actually been fun watching Scotland recently instead of the slow, painful torture it was under Bertie.
ps Ally is a great guy, and I say that despite the number of goals he scored against us.
