My sister is 60 yrs old and cannot keep a house clean AT ALL. She never cleans her house and family is beginning to wonder if this may be a sickness.

You should watch Oprah today. The topic is this very subject.
There is a woman on today whose bathroom is cleanier that her kitchen. OMG!!! Can you imagine??!!

Yes , Depression. She just doesn't care anymore obviously. Take her out. Take her to a shrink and hire someone to clean the house for her once in a while. Also maybe she is too old to be cleaning, does she have arthritis ? Maybe it hurts her.

Sometimes depression causes people to neglect themselves and their homes. Clutter piles up quickly and then they become overwhelmed.

Perhaps your sister needs to see a doctor and/or find a good therapist. Good luck!

i really don't want to sound rude, but i think it's called laziness. dust and dirt build up can cause so many health issues, bed bugs, body lice, and the list goes on.

It will, no doubt, cause many illnesses. However it could be a mental condition!
