My friend saw me eating oranges yesterday and told me it meant I would defo have a boy!! Also heartburn is caused by a baby with a lot of hair! I must admit they made me chuckle. have you got any good ones.

I've heard that if the expecting mother is frightened by something, she should hold her hands away from any part of her body or she will mark her child with a hideous birthmark or some kind of deformity. Of course, that is just as ridiculous as the ones you've heard, but that is just another old wives tale to add to your list. My goodness those poor women put themselves under tons of pressure, didn't they?

The most ridiculous one I heard (and I heard a lot when I was prego) was that if you push too hard while pooing the baby will come out. Pregnant women should wear earplugs the whole pregnancy I tell ya!

Oh this is a silly one, you have to wear a red ribbon or string around your belly all the time in case of an eclipse, otherwise your baby will have birth defects.

The needle and thread test. If they put cotton onto a needle and hover it iver your bump, if it goes side to side its a boy and round and round its a girl!!
As for the oranges, I had a boy and i was mad on them!! I didn't have the same craving second time around and had another boy so dont believe all you hear.

An old lady once told my friend that if she washed her hair too soon (this was a few days after the birth) she would die! Faint, I would understand, but to die is a bit extreme. She washed her hair and is still going strong!

I was told an old west Indian tale today - apparently you are not supposed to watch horror movies while pregnant, as it will bring bad spirits upon your unborn child. Spooky!

my grandmother told me not to eat the ends of a loaf of bread, because it would make my boobs too big. I heard the hair thing too. and if you crave pickles, the child will be extremely smart. I heard not to go to a funeral either. and if your carrying a girl, you will definitely be late, because they need more time to primp in order to come out!!

my lady friend swears she started to grow a weiner as a smptom of being pregnant. but it never completed its development. it was like a crotch coming out between her hip and her private.
she had to have it operated on so now it is just like a deformed bump there...
