They tell you to look in your car's manual, but my car is in the early 90's and it just says 'back seat'
Um, I know that much.
I just meant passenger side, driver's side, or middle.
Which have you been told, or think is the safest/

I thought middle also, but getting parinoid about something possibly comming in the windsheild, and without the seats, or people in the front to protect them, they would get the brunt of whatever could come in.

Friend of mine's friend was in an accident, and the middle of the car just wasn't a safe place for him that day.

Go to your closest Fire or Police Department and they will tell you exactly where you can place it and avoid a ticket or far out an accident!

I'm pretty sure it is coz i know someone who has 3 kids under 3 and they ive like an hour away and they travel up and down all the time with 3 car seats in the back seat but i would double check

Middle of the backseat is safest. Think about distance from the outside of the car if you were in an accident...

I always put my boys in the middle of the backseat when they were little. Rear facing backseat when they were infants. This was what the hospital told me to do when I went home after delivering the baby. The nurse showed me.

Your local Department of Public safety are the one that usually do the car seat safety program.

in center console since it is more distanced from the rear and protected by driver and passenger seat incase ot "T-bone-ing"

I was told the middle of the backseat - farther away from both sides, as it were.
