Yeah and you will also fall over with weakness. Starving yourself is not a sensible option:

This is an extremely unhealthy way to lose weight. You will of course lose weight at first but not eating throws your body into starvation mode. Once you lose about 5 lbs, your body will start saving everything it can. So say you don't eat anything for a few days and have nothing but water, the next time you do eat ANYTHING your body will absorb all it can out of the food, including all the bad stuff it would normally not absorb and it will store whatever you eat as fat. Which is the exact opposite of what you want to do.
Your best bet to lose weight is to do it the healthy way. Eat foods that take more calories to digest than they give (i.e. celery). Eat several small portions a day, exercise at least 30 mins a day and the big key, drink a LOT of water.
If you do these things, you will find that the weight starts to come off and it will stay off.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Its not the healthiest way and you will more than likely re gain the weight you lose if any very quickly. If you want to lose weight do it sensibly. I joined Slimmers world and you have to be patient. Dont set your goals too high. Aim for a few pounds at first then keep going. You must eat like a king for breakfast, a princess for lunch and a pauper for supper. Drink plenty of non alchol fluids. I got lots of support from the group an lost almost 2 stone in 6 months reaching my target. Also when you lose weight slowly you are less likely to put it back on. Change you eating habits and way of thinking about food and you will be fine.

By the laws of physics, to lose weight, one has to expend more calories than one takes in. Therefore, if you only drink water for a whole weekend, then in all probability you may lose a few pounds, however, firstly most of this will be water weight and secondly there is little point in starving your body for a weekend in order for such a marginal weight loss when the other side effects (dizziness, low blood pressure, foul mood, rumbling stomach, cramps...need i go on?) are so severe.

youll lose weight but when you start back eating youll gain back twice as much as you lost. Reason being because your body is holding on to that fat thinking your trying to starve it and it causes you to gain weight. Try going the whole weekend eating nothing but salad or eating fruit and drinking water. These are low calorie foods so its like your not eat anything but in the process your stomach is tricked into feeling full.

You will lose weight but you'll lose it from muscle mass. Your body will sense that you are starving it and will actually begin to store fat. Since muscle weighs more than fat, you will notice being lighter on the scale reading.

The fat will begin to add on faster since you lost muscle mass. Remember muscle is more efficient at burning fat.

Best bet, eat lightly at mealtime, like a piece of fruit, piece of fish or chicken breast. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily.

here's the low-down: You've likely heard before, and others are likely to post that 'starvation diets' will not work. I myself find that your body really only needs basic vitamins and minerals to survive, and will systematically shut-off non-critical systems in the absence of adequate calories, but only after long periods (in my experience, 20+ days of fasting, or 5+ days of no fliuds) or a steady diet (again, in my experience, 6 months and up) of slightly less-than-minimum nourishment. There is nothing wrong with skipping a meal every once in awhile, or fasting for a few days, but keep in mind that throughout you're lifetime, you've trained your body to expect a certain amount of food, and it will alert you as you experience varying degrees of 'starvation' based on its own experience. Generally, it's best to heed such warnings to avoid causing your body to 'over-react' to sudden dietary changes, putting you in a difficult situation that will turn out counter-productive. I hope that helps, just try to listen to your body and let it tell you when it's getting worried.

When you starve your body by only drinking water, it burns muscle protein to keep you going and hangs onto the fat. Once you start eating again, you will gain more fat and have to work harder to regain the muscle that was lost due to starvation. As always, the key to weight loss is fewer calories in and more exercise. The more muscle you build, the more calories you will burn to keep those muscles working.

thats just like saying, if i steel other peoples chips, will i still get fat. of corse u will. u will lose wieght at an unhealthy rate, making u tired and ill, then when u start eating again, your body thinks its a treat and you will pile the wieght back on. if u wnat to lose wieght stop being lazy, theres no easy way around it. exercise daily and eat a balanced diet. and no that doesnt mean a biscuit in each hand.
