another question for nurses about uniforms?

how come when i go to the hospital there are nurses that have different colors on, some wear green or purple scrubs, some wear these tops with pictures, or just white with collars, some have pants, some wear skirts

i guess what i mean is, do they do that depending on what section of the hospital they are in or do they just do that because they want to?

Most hospitals let you wear whichever scrubs you want, some have different colors for different depts. Our hospitals lets us wear what we like.

Some hospitals require nurses to be uniform and all the same color. My hospital used to require all nurses to be in teal, all techs to be in purple and all docs to be in baby blue. That just tells what your title is so to speak.

Now we are able to wear whatever color we want, as long as they coordinate. Also, the printed tops can be worn as long as the pants match.

depends on the place..one hospital here the maternity nurses all wear pink so you if you are a patient there you know only someone in pink works on that unit and if someone not in pink comes in and says we need your baby for this or that you know they do not work there,and those nurses are the only ones allowed to wear pink...the rest of the units the nurses can wear what they want color wise...the ancillary staff are color coded...housekeepng in dark blue,nurses aides in a maroon color,techs in a teal green

Thrift stores and consignment shops have clothes that are in great condition. It takes alot of time hunting an item that you want but once you find it, it will be worth it. Not to mention the price will be better too for something that you only are going to wear just once.
