My boyfriend is a postman, he has quite a big round and carries his bag on his shoulder. Lately, he has been having severe pains and throbbing in his one shoulder. He started alternating his bag due to this but it still hurts, even now after 2/3 weeks off sick. It hurts up into his neck from his shoulder blade. He has been to the docs and they said it could be a pulled muscle, but should it take this long to heal?
He is not in pain everyday, some days he feels ok, but someting triggers off the pain? Any suggestions?

tell him to try acupuncture. doctors cant do anything but prescribe pain medication for pulled muscles but acupuncture can treat the problem. maybe the postal service can give him a push-cart instead of a bag. my dad was a mailman and he had a little cart. plus he should alternate ice and heat on the shoulder.

maybe he should have a word with his boss, change his round and even find some other method of transporting the mail around. Could he not switch jobs and drive a parcel van, or use one of those trolleys on wheels to tranport his load. Surely if he had a word with his boss they would do something to help him out rather than risk his health and risk losing a postman if he has to give up his job at some point due to the pain.

He should get that little cart, even if it's not macho. If he does the route for many years, he'll end up with issues later. But this is probably a pulled muscle and could take about 3 weeks to get back to normal.

Sorry, i did not get it, yet i will examine it back. Edit: I purely examine the final section. especially humorous... There could be some emotion between the guy and postman, or atleast the postman working away... I dunno...
