Yes, it could mean something else is wrong. Call your eye doctor and tell him exactly what you said in your question and info. Tell him you need to see someone right away. I don't know if you need a neurologist, an internist, or what. But you urgently need a doctor. Good Luck!!

Eyesight worsening? This happened to my mother several years ago. Its could be a sign of damage being done to your internal organs. It occurs quite often in people with diabetes.
I would get tested for diabetes first of all since untreated diabetes will lead to kidney failure. I would limit caffein intake to very little or none and increase my vitamin A intake (carrotts). They say carrotts are good for vision and its true. Also try cutting out bad carbs and replacing them with whole grain foods.
The most important thing that I can't stress enough is to drink plenty of water. A gallon a day is optimal but 8 8ounce glasses a day would be sufficient if you find it hard to drink lots of water. The water will help your kidneys filter out the impurities that could be building up and damaging them.
Also your Dr. Should have told you that cranberry's are excellent for your kidneys so if you get yourself some 100% pure cranberry juice in the natural foods isle of your grocery store and add an ounce or so to a glass of water you can prevent those painful kidney stones.(reg cranberry juice is only 20% cranberry..they use pear juice and tons of corn syrups to sweeten it. Stay away from the extra sugar.)
Good luck with your health!

I have referred an Optician colleague for a "kink" in his vision. Did a layer-by-layer scan of the retina and all tests that you can think of - the conclusion is possibly some swelling that's occured at some point and now that's a residue and isn't progressive. Can't even tell if it'll disappear but it's something that might be there for sometime. I guess if it's something that they have ruled out any sinister causes and it is non-progressive, there's nothing much they could do but just monitor.

anything out of the ordinary which alarms you is a problem that needs to be see to immediately, it could be nothing but why risk your health. you're obviously concerned and that means you need to do something about it. call your doc and tell them your symptoms, all of them even those you think are small...if they won't get you in quickly then find a doc who will or go to the emergency room.

Possible causes are high blood pressure, high or low blood sugar (diabetes or pre-diabetes) allergic reactions, sensitivties, or stress.
See another doctor, ask your parents and relatives what their family medical history is/was. Always good to know thiese things, and your doctor will ask you.
Hope you feel better.
