I am 19.5 weeks pregnant and yesterday I went for my ultrasound to be told that I am having a baby boy! Well, before I had not felt any movements, but it was like as soon as the ultrasound was over... BOOM! He is moving like crazy! Now, I feel him several times a day and they are obvious kicks. He is breech by the way. Does anyone know why I'm suddenly feeling kicks? Did the ultrasound jumpstart something? haha... Did anyone else experience this?
Also, here is something funny... while watching the ultrasound machine, we wacthing him literally punching at my stomach. lol....

First, Congrats on your baby boy! The reason you felt him after the ultrasound is because the ultrasound pushes and squeezes him a little...probably enough to make him a little annoyed. Plus, 19.5 weeks is around the average time women start really feeling their baby. Right now you're probably spending a lot of time watching your tummy and waiting to see a punch, but in a few weeks you'll be begging him to be still long enough for you to fall asleep!

It may be because they have to push and poke at the belly sometimes to get the baby to move especially if their looking for the gender. Also your almost 20 weeks so it's just the right time to feel the baby's movements anyway. Another thing, they don't consider the baby breach just yet because there is still plenty of room for the baby to float around freely. So you will feel kicks everywhere for a while.
When we had the ultrasound our baby was sucking her thumb! You could literally see her putting her finger in her mouth, then tried to shove her other hand in at the same time. It was the cutest thing i have ever seen!!

Congratulations! Yes, the ultrasound can cause the baby to become active and at times it can feel like he's literally rolling all over the place...not at all unusual.

Breech? At 19.5 weeks he still has a little while to move himself around or the doctor might even try to encourage that he does this by helping him :)

My last child was breech right to birth, she had no intention of allowing anyone to tell her how she was going to be born...with 4 natural births already done with no problems, this last one just had to be a close call with a c-section. However, I had a fabulous doctor who knew another fabulous doctor and together they ensured that my last child wouldn't end in a c-section :)

She was born with her butt first, legs pushed and wrapped around her head...today at 15 she is still doing a lot of telling the world to kiss her butt! Very stubborn, opinionated but beautiful and loving ... and yes, the saying if you had your last child first you'd have no more? She makes me think it's very true at times

All the best!

I had the same thing with my first daughter. But it was more because I felt her move for the first time whilst I was being scanned and remember thinking "oh thats what it feels like when they kick" and so was more aware after. Maybe thats what it is. You will feel it a lot earlier with your next one if you have any. By 15 weeks I could feel my second. You think it is wind with your first. I'll bet he's been moving for weeks and you just didnt realise what it was.

Also, he may have moved into a different position after the scan. Sometimes their legs and arms are toward your back and you dont feel it so much. Then they turn and their little arms and legs are outward so you can feel it much better. Hope this helped.

I have always had my babies moving like crazy on the ultrasound. This pregnancy whenever the stick thing is over him he kicks at it.

I felt mine move before the ultrasound and with the first not till a couple weeks after.

i think it's pretty much just a coincidence and 19 weeks is about the average for feeling movements. you might have had movement prior to your ultrasound, but just simply did not feel it because it was gentle and not often. my baby boy have started his "rodeo" like a day before the ultrasound, which i had done at 20 weeks, and he has been crazy ever since. I guess just enjoy!

there is a few possibilities....maybe you just feel him move now that you recognise you are having a boy. It is very normal for the baby to move during the ultra sound.

Its probably just coincidence. My little guy would "run away" from the ultrasound, but no effects like you are describing afterwards.

Congrats!!!!
