I would like to advise you against going ahead with this. I am only a little older than you - 49 - but although i feel young at heart, sometimes i get horrible menopausal symptoms and if i were coping with a young baby as well as my teenager i know it would be very hard work. Also is it fair on the child to bring it into the world when you are gonna be 60 when it is still under 18? Also you might not have a lovely little girl.... you might have a boy or there is much more chance of you having a Downs child. Also more complications with birth etc. What would your boys think? And the baby's dad? Would a baby REALLY fit into your life?

That clock is ticking loudly to add some pink in your life huh? Well don't give up hope. The sex of said baby is decided by the Male's contribution to the mix. There are some studies out there about certain sexual positions increasing the probability of certain sexes in babies, but I personally question their validity.
Males have an advantage on we women in the fact that they renew their sperm every 24-48 hours. Women are born with the number of eggs that they will produce for life. Thus at mid 40's your eggs are getting old. The older the eggs the more chance of different birth defects, so keep that in mind. Plus it is not unheard of to have a "menopause baby". Just because a woman thinks that she has stopped ovulating because of her period stopping doesn't mean anything. It is not rare for a woman to go through the process of reaching total menopause for ten years or more.

Of course it's possible. Follow your heart. Be cautious, though: learn from your mistakes; be generous with your boys; consult your doctor and listen carefully to all relevant advice about childbearing at your age. Don't get your heart set on a girl--chances are just as good you'll have another boy.

Or--have you thought of this?--consider adopting a lovely little girl. Approaching menopause won't matter; lack of a partner or husband won't matter; you can specify a girl; you will be making a positive difference in the world. Look into it. There are reliable adoption agencies in every community.

You should consult a gynaocologist about your idea. Said that, it's not uncommon for a woman of your age to have a baby, anyway. I have realtives who gave birth without complications. The mother of a friend of mine gave birth to a very healthy baby when she was 42, and so on. But, you have to be very sure that this is what you want. A baby will need a lot of attention, and do you still have the stamina to run around him or her? If you do, then go ahead and consult a doctor. You have to start now for that. But, if you feel that you won't be able to keep pace with a growing child again, it's best to not have a baby. Just count yourself lucky for having two sons, at least.....

Yes. At the age of 45 years, 3 months, 14 days, 9 hours, and 45 minutes... it is too late. :-P

Obviously I am being facetious. The best thing you can do is talk to your doctor. It is going depend on a number of physical factors, and it is different for each women. Most women do not have babies naturally at your age, but many do!

That said, if this is all about righting your past wrongs or getting that little girl, you might want to reconsider. Make sure you are wanting a child for the right reasons. You might not get that daughter you want! Talk it over with your loved ones and make sure it is the right thing for you to do. Then talk it over with the doc.

Good luck!

there is an age decrease for women to properly have little ones for sure. each and every woman is born with specific quantity of eggs in her physique that's discharged with each and every menstrual cycle. Early to mid 20's are while biologically the eggs are at their healthiest and so is the physique to bypass throughout the approach of concieving, keeping and handing over for sure. around 30's and later is while the conventional of eggs besides because of the fact the flexibility to hold directly to a being pregnant starts off reducing. additionally any genetic probability of blood rigidity, diabetes, thyroid etc kicks up throughout gestation. ideally in accordance to the obgyn Dr.'s while a pair tries to concieve for sure they have around a million 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to be in a position and from there on with each and every passing 3 hundred and sixty 5 days the % drops dramatically. it is while they might desire to apply man made approaches. as a result say if the couple is youthful than their differences to concieve artifically are intense comparitively. it is wise on your better half to bypass to her gyn. Get her historic past and cycles recorded and bypass on from there. stable success.

But what if you have another boy? Chromosonal testing should be done on any fetus carried by a woman over 35 due to the increased risk of mental retardation.

I'm all for having a baby later in life but your reasoning seems off - having a baby to "reform mistakes" from how you raised your other kids isn't a reason to have another.

course there isnt an age limit, if youre able to get pregnant, youre able to be a wonderful mother!!! your boys deep down would love a baby brother or sister i bet! go for it while you still have chance, i know alot of women who have had babies in their forties and the babys have been perfectly healthy. if youre trying for a girl get you and your partner to eat lots of citrus fruit such as lemons, oranges, anything bitter!! and surround yourself with female imagery, pink etc as it is supposed to help. good luck!!xx

No, where did you get an idea like that? I mean as lon as your body is physically fit and you are in good health and a natural birth is not life threatening to you then age really doesn't matter.
