Everyone myself included as high expecations of how life should work out and turn out. I tend to expect a lot of life, circumstances and people I love, How does one go about having godly expecations and to be realistic in the Lord?

try living one day at a time.also if you have high expectation of others you are bound to be dissapointed. Be more reliant on the Lord not people.

The more you expect out of life, the more you will get. You are just happy and grateful for the things that do go right and forget about the things that don't work out so well.

Achieving goals and expectations is a state of mind.

set your expectations.

yo uassume that someone else sets the level of the expectation. if you werent busy giving your life over to an imaginary man in the sky (which is like saying a plane is on autopilot when there is no autopilot) then you might realise that regadless of the level of expectation, if you try-and work at it- you might just meet those expectations.

try doing things on your own instead of expecting an imaginary storybook character do do them for you.

Expectations are for fools. And to be fair, we're ALL fools. Much as I might try to avoid forming expectations, they're sneaky little buggers and if you relax your vigilance for even a moment, WHAM! There they are.

Just a little zen thing I learned. Expectations are the cause of much unhappiness.

I'm no pastor, but maybe you should talk to one.

All I can tell you is that I have learned not to worry about the things I can't control. All is in God's hands anyway, so I just turn it over to Him and work on contentment with what I have.

Enjoy your day to day life while not comprimising your beliefs. It's fine to have goals too, and you should do a little each day to make them happen but if you don't enjoy life as it's happening it'll soon be gone, and what kind of life will you have led.

expect from God, only what you give to His creatures, including yourself

if you show mercy, toleration, and busy yourself with the study of man rather than God like Pope said in his epistle of man, you shall open the doorway to untapped wisdom
