Yes, that'll be the best way to go about it.
I did it that way, and just before I stopped, my daughter was only drinking once a day anyway, so with a few distraction techniques she stopped.
I think I miss it more than she does now!

My children never took bottles very well at all so i breastfed till my 1st child was 17 months!!! it got to the stage where she would reach for my breasts in public which was very embarrassing, especially as she was a toddler!! The other 2 were 9 months and 14 months respectively. I have to say with all of them i just stopped feeding. With the 1st it was very hard because she cried the 1st 2 nights but i stuck to it by the 3rd night she stopped wantin it altogether. The other 2 didn't cry at all which made me realise it was the comfort they wanted, not the milk.Gradually is the best way but if your son wont stop by himself then sorry, the cruel way may well be the only way.

Many children when weened to cows milk end up fussy and constipated. If this happens, you might want to try soy milk or goat's milk. Also, I know that at 15 months, breast feeding is as much a comfort thing for a child as it is a nutrition thing. Try reading singing etc when you give your child a bottle so they still get the intimacy and attention.

I'm not sure about just stopping suddenly...your body will continue to produce milk and it could be painful for you. I think you should cut down gradually - I did this until my son was just having one feed before going to bed for the night. When he finally stopped feeding completely, I did experience some discomfort for a few nights but it eased off before too long. Good luck!

I found it easiest to just ween them off. You're son is bit older than what mine were, but it should still work. Eliminate one feeding a day for about a week and then eliminate another and so on until you have eliminated it completely. It's easier on the child and on your milk reduction verses doing it cold turkey. Hope this helps and good luck!

I purely needed to assert congratulation on your 2 a million/2 breastfeeding years. you already know you have given your daughter the suited foodstuff start up you delivers right here whilst nourishing for better than 2 years as worldwide well-being company recommends. you will desire to attempt offering your daughter a fruit or examine right here a e book. My son loves end result so as that artwork nicely for me. i does not placed some thing with a foul style on my breasts, i desire my little ones to think of quite with regard to the breastfeeding and that i do no longer desire to make the final breastfeeding-memory be a foul one.

My daughter wouldn't give it up at 18months. It just became a pacifier to her. I put a little bit of black pepper on the nipple and sure enough she said the word yucky and stopped just like that. It might sound mean but pepper is a food so to speak it just wasn't her type of food at that time!

YOU CAN DO THIS....... SIMPLY OFFER THE COWS' MILK AND NOT BREASTMILK. CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS YOURS ARE NOT TOO YOUNG TO BE SPOILED, REMEMBER THIS!
