In the United States, ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) acredited engineering programs normally take 4 years for a bachelors degree in a single major. Engineering programs are not taken seriously by employers if they are not ABET accredited, but you can get a pretty good engineering job with a bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program. A masters usually takes 1 additional year for a coursework masters or 2 years for a research masters if taken full-time. Part-time masters programs usually require 10 courses, which can take anywhere from 3 to 5 years if you take classes one at a time, depending on if summer courses are available.

i presume you would rather go to a college instead of a collage. i'm not aware of any acrredited collages, so you'd just be wasting your time.

what exactly do you mean "become an engineer"?
if you only mean obtain a degree sufficient to acquire an engineering job, then a 4 year bachelor's degree would be the minimum (if you are ambitious, you can finish the degree in less than 4 years).

or do you mean to become a licensed P.E. (professional engineer)?
the requirements may vary from state to state, but typically you need a master's degree plus a number of years (5?) of engineering work experience (and to pass the exams) to obtain a P.E. license.

A typical curriculum in the United States will take you four years, depending upon which type of engineering and your academic capability. If you attend class during the summer you can reduce the time, if you have difficulty it may take you an extra semester or two.
