i know a better low-fat diet will help, but i need to know if there are any exercises aside from running that will help me lose the @$$ fat.

all these people are wrong, you can't lose fat off your butt, or any other body part. you can't select where fat loss will occur. you can tone your muscles, but if it's under a layer of fat, you'll never see the difference. cardio workouts are the only thing that will burn fat, but it is geneticly predetermined where fat loss will occur first, and secondly, and thirdly...but most people lose it all over their bodies gradually.

Lay on your back with your knees bent, lift and clench your butt cheeks "like you're trying to pick up a $100 dollar bill with your butt!" Quoted directly from Tony Little!! Do that everyday and you'll see a difference soon enough!

build your leg muscles and they will help burn the fat better when you do cardio
