by drinking the proper ammount of water that your body needs, your body will release the extra water it "hold on to"....let me say it another way. when you deprive your body of all the water it needs to function, it hold water in various cells whenever it gets water (like from a tomato you ate yesterday)...your body is storing up for drought.
when you drink the proper ammount of water (determined by half of your weight = how many ounces of water you should drink), you body then begins to "trust" you in that you will replenish the needed water daily, therefor it releases the retained water...releasing this water is what is known as "losing water weight". you will only see this happen at the begining, but losing those 5 or so pounds quickly can be very motivational for the dieter to keep going.

It depends on when you drink the water. If you drink a lot of water just before eating you have that full feeling and you won't eat as much

It will flush your system. This will speed your food through your system and the faster food goes through your system, the less chance your body will have to absorb nutrients. Less absorption from the food you eat equals more calories expelled from your system.
If you drink more than 8 - 8 ounce, glasses of water per day, be sure that you are getting enough nutrients in your system to maintain your health.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Because its common for a person to confuse hunger with thirst. Most people eat because its comforting or because they've starved themselves all day and then overeat. They eat because the supersize value meal was cheaper than the regular size meal. We're desensatized to understand when our bodies are actually hungry and when we're actually needing something else.

9 out of 10 times people think they are hungry, they really are thirsty. thats why drinknig water helps to make you feel full. also, there are no calories or anything in water, so it is a much healthier alternative.
