Two cups in the morning wakes me up, but by nightfall I may be having a withdrawal headache. Then, a small cup of coffee will help me fall asleep better than if I go to bed with that slight headache. It's ironic but it may have a calming effect on hyperactive children and dogs. I've seen it.

It is clearly a stimulant. Drink a pot tonight and find out for yourself.
It is true that stimulants can help to channel energy, so for some people the effects may seem to be adverse, but that doesn't mean caffeine isn't a stimulant.

it wakes me up but does not make me hyper. I have ADD. So in kindergarden I was ordered by the Dr. to drank a cup every morning before school. I guess it seems to help me focus and keep a clearer head. I drink about two to three cups a day.

My youngest son was "hyper", the surest way to get him to calm down was a cup of coffee. As I do not believe in giving drugs to children, my son drank coffee every day.

coffee is a stimulant by nature. it can act to make one hyper if they are not regular coffee drinkers. at the same time, a regular drinker, may be calmed by coffee. caffeine is like any drug and once tolerance built up, the body is soothed by its presence.

a hallucinogen make you have visions and hear issues. the hot craze is Salvia and it is one. Others comprise LSD and a few varieties of mushrooms. A stimulant makes you want to bypass and stay wide awake longer. Meth and cocaine are stimulants. Depressants are drugs that numb you out and make you no longer want to bypass. Alcohol is a depressant. Others comprise valium, and heroin and different opiates.

It makes me sleepy. It deffinately doesn't "wake me up" although if I drink alot I get palpitations.
I drink it because it tastes nice and it's a habit.
