how do i make freinds and speak to women without coming across as though i'm hitting on them. I feel held back, maybe a bit withdrawn when speaking to women i have just met for fear they will think i am after something other than just a possible freindship?

I think the most important thing to do is relax.
As long as you don't see them as a potential partner, then you're fine.
Don't be worried about what they think, just be yourself.
If someone does end up thinking that way, you can politely inform them you weren't hitting on them.

BE YOURSELF. Why come across as someone you're not. If a woman is interested in you, whether it be as a friend or lover she will let you know. I, being a woman, feel more comfortable around men than women. If you feel held back, just remember that we're all human and it's natural to feel uncomfortable with strangers. If a woman thinks that when a man speaks to them that they're only thinking one thing, than obviously you wouldn't want to be a friend/lover with them. Just be yourself and you'll be fine. =)

awhh... k, well i guess I'd be one of those "women" - but i'd go into meeting someone very casually @ first. don't be too abrupt or "into" them, look at them in the EYES when you talk & actually listen to what they're saying? If you're already doing all the proper gentleman ways.. then you're not the problem. go in honest & you'll most likely come out w. an honest friendship ~ it's worth the try, even if you're put down - there's many women out there, all looking for diff. things.

I learned this from years of experience. Stop worrying about whether or not they think you're hitting on them! Loosen up. Be natural. Be yourself. Be casual. If they think you're hitting on them, then so be it. Many of them won't even mind. Some of them might even LIKE it. That is one way to find out whether or not a girl really likes you. In any case, most of them won't think that if you aren't doing it. You can always TELL them you just want to be friends. Honesty is always the best policy... unless they ask you if they look fat. ;-)

just speak you know like hi, how are you, or what's up now that you have a convertstion just be you don't worry hitting on a woman is like well you get the idea don't let that happen just let your instict gide you trust me you will know what to do
