They say that after a break up girls grieve right away, obsess about it and then move on while guys don't really think about it and it hits them later. Is this true?
Is it true even if you only dated for a few months but liked the girl? I had a guy I dated for a few months who I really thought liked me break up because it was long distance and we had he thought we were getting serious too fast. Plus he had gotten out of a relationship a few months before and wasn't ready to date again. I knew he was into me though. I told him that I understood and that I liked him a lot and thought he was a great guy and that if he ever wanted to give me a call he should. That was about a month ago and I haven't contacted him or anything. Could he still be thinking about me?

it depends, did you guys get sexually involved? if you did, then yes he is still thinking about you and will probably eventually call you back. if you did not, then yes is probably still thinking about the possibillty of calling you.

I believe that they don't think about the girl if it was never really anything "special"... But then again, I'm not a guy, so not sure!

Possibly, but I wouldn't put too much into it. Guys are pretty straight forward about breaking up with you. When it's over - it's over.
It's better to move on and find someone new than to pine about the past.

I think your first explanation is true. At least for me. I can dump a girl without even giving it a second thought. And then one day, she'll pop into my mind for no reason.

A guy would only be thinking about you if you were really special to him. If you weren't, he still might not give a damn, no matter how long it's been.
