For the sake of being able to express myself clearly, I am assuming you are the parent. Pardon me for being crude, but if they are "doing it," then he's breaking the law in most states that I know of. It is statutory rape. If you are the parent, I would call your local police station and ask them what the law is in your area, just in case. They will be able to assist you. That said, there may not be a lot you can do about it without proof, and you will be alienating your daughter. She is almost grown up, and within two years she can definitely be doing whatever she wants, in some places even sooner. It is impossible to say without being in your shoes, but you MIGHT be better off being cautiously supportive. By this I mean you tell your daughter what you think and why and let her know you do NOT approve of it. Then you accept her as she is and let her make her own mistakes, being there for her when it crashes down on her... and you KNOW that it will happen! This is a tough question, either way! Good luck!

That depends on what you're doing while dating. If it's platonic, it's not explicitly illegal. If it's not, then that depends on the state you live in. The age of consent is as low as 16 in some states, although in some of those, the consent laws are graduated, so that there's an age range limit under 18 (like girls under 18 can't consent with anyone more than 4 years older than them, for example).

It's conceivable that the parents could claim you kidnapped their daughter, but at age 16 I think they'd have a real hard time with that if the daughter goes with you willingly.

That's a recipe for disaster! If the parents don't approve of the relationship, then the 24 year old should respect that....especially if he's a father himself. So that's more a morals thing. Now if they're sleeping together, that's definitely illegal and could end up with a statutory rape charge against the 24 year old if the parents decide to press charges.

Depends on what state they live in. In some states the age of consent is 16 so the girl can make her own choice. Her parents do have some rights though since she is still considered a minor, the could go to court to get a restraining order but I wouldn't give it much chance.

Not only is it illegal... he would be considered a sexual predator! He has no business with a 16 r old girl! Is this your daughter we are talking about? Either way, for the sake of a young girl that probably doesn't realize what she is getting herself into... I would call the police and report it!

Also... it doesn't matter what state you are in! He is over 18 (by a lot) she is under 18... it is not even statutory rape! It is child molestation!
