I will be in the LA area around mid January, and i don't really know of any places to go out and have a good time. I'm mainly looking for somewhere to go on Friday and Saturday, that plays a good mixture of hip hop and pop music. I'm not looking for the hood crowd, but at the same time i'm not looking to mix in with the swanky, pretentious crowd either. I would like to kick it with a moderately professional crowd that knows how to let loose and have a good time. Thanks in advance!

Dana Point does not have alot of hip hop clubs, but good restaurants. The Chart House or Salt Creek Grill are good choices. Its mainly a beach area, so there a lot of dive bars.
