A standard cup for recipes is 8 oz., but most drinking glasses are closer to 12 oz., except for juice glasses, which are generally only 6 oz. Hope this helps.

Most of my glasses hold from 12 to 20 ounces. Just think of pouring a 12-ounce soda in a glass; most glasses hold at least that. I don't know why people are telling you eight. That's more like a drinking cup. Hope that helps..

it's usually 8-12 oz (a can of soda is 12 oz) for sets of dinner glasses, but cups you get at convenience stores and fast food places tend to be much bigger (32-48 oz)
