A virus is what causes a cold. Actually there are many combined viruses that create a cold. The only way to get the virus into the body, is a port of entry. Like breathing it in, or dirty hands touching the mouth etc. However, by going outside with wet hair, it could be a strain on your body, leading to lowering your immune system by the extra strain and work placed on the body. When the immune system is lowered, the resistance to fight off the virus infections is comprised...therefore indirectly it can contribute to one getting ill...but it cannot directly cause a cold.

wet hair makes your head cold, therefore you are more prone to get sick! Ex. more people get sick in winter b/c it's cold, works the same way with your wet head!

There is an old Eskimo wives tale here in Alaska that goes: "It isn't the cold that makes you sick, it's the warmth coming back in."
