I have a puggle and I purchased her from a breeder i found online. The website is www.puppyfind.com. Breeders can list their puppies and there is a wide range of prices. Plus on that site people can leave reviews about the breeder. I paid $500 for her and $250 was her airline ticket. I would also check your local paper. When I got my puggle I couldn't find a breeder in my area and now there are lots!

I run a website called Puggle Mania and have a complete overview of the Puggle including a breeder section. I currently only have two breeders listed, but you could check with them and see if they have any upcoming litters.
Beyond the puggle you might consider a more mainstream dog if you are looking to spend under 1000. General rule of supply and demand holds true with dogs. You can get a purebred Lab for under 1000 dollars because they are abundant and very popular. If you are looking for a small dog consider the Terrier family. (i.e Cairn, Norfolk, Rat, Jack Russell, or Border) just to name a few.
Good Luck

We have a puggle. She is just over one year old and she's 24 pounds. We did a no-no and bought her from a local pet store. It is a small local store and we paid about 1/4 of what we've heard them going for elsewhere. This store provided the name of the breeders and they are very reputable.
I know someone else who has a puggle and they seem to have a problem with running when they manage to break free. Ours follows scents very seriously--it's hard to get her attention if she's caught a scent. Depending on how their nose is shaped, they tend to snort and snore a little bit. So, if you're looking for a real quiet dog, a puggle might not be the dog for you. They are absolutely adorable and even when she acts up, she's a great dog!

I know puggles are definately high right now. I know a puggle who was in a shelter and people were offering to pay up to $2000 to adopt the little guy out.
The best way to go about findin a puggle is to check petfinder (www.petfinder.org)
http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?offset=5&zone=5&limit=25&zip=02135&breed=pug&animal=Dog&tmpl=&lat=42.3507&long=-71.1539&preview=1
Or to go on the AKC website and look up breeders from a pug or the other breed to which the puggle comes about and see if they cross breed. I knew a breeder who was cross bring poodles and maltese but where charging a high price so I instead adopted a puppy from petfinder.org
Also you can check the local newspapers in your area in the pet classified sections.
Good Luck.

first you need to realize that a puggle is a mixed breed mutt. nothing wrong with mutts they're great. but it's a beagle/pug combo and you need to research the breed. some beagles are around 20lbs or so and the dog won't be very small more than likely. and as for paying for it i wouldn't pay more than an adoption fee at the shelter. most shelters have small breed mixed breed dogs. and their fee is around $100 and that includes the spay or neuter and vaccines. plus they can match you to a dog or puppy that fits with your needs and lifestyle. you're not going to find a puggle on an AKC website since they are not a recognized breed and a reputable AKC breeder won't be offering mixed breed puppies.

JUST GOOGLE OR SEARCH ON LINE. That is a mixed breed so you should find one for free or very cheap don't pay a lot because it is mixed. There are to many people taking advantage of others. Check out a shelter in your surrounding area.

You can search breeders at www.akc.com or the pennysaver pages. Never buy one from a pet store! (Here is some inside information http://www.stoppuppymills.org/ )
