How are you going to feel when you're around his friends, who are as old as your parents? The other wives are going to look at you and laugh. The other men won't take you seriously- they'll see you as a sex-toy. One day he'll get tired of being with a baby, and you'll get tired of being his child.

As an older but very immature man(For my age-too many years surfing!) I have found that there is a very big and significant difference between 22 and say 19 for women. Under 21/22, we as a society are dealing with what effectively used to be 17/18.
I view College aged people now as "Children". A great number are just still on their mother's umbilical cords and are just simply not adults!(I got real issues with this same group Voting!).
When A man marries, it is to start a family. I prefer the idea of enabling any children I might ever have to have a Mother who is likely to be around for them. Plus, a younger wife could raise the kid's until they are able to get a regular routine and then start her career, while mine would be set and I could then take more time with the kids when I would be more significant in their lives!

You obviously have some doubts about this relationship or you wouldn't be on Yahoo Answers asking our opinion. Anyway, to answer your questions: if I were 38 and dating a 22 year old, I would feel like I was dating my daughter or one of her friends (disgusting!) And no, I wouldn't marry a 22 year old. When your boyfriend gets over his mid-life crisis and gets tired of trying to keep up with you, don't be surprised if he dumps you for someone closer to his age. He's just using you as arm candy to feed his ego during his mid-life crisis. And who the hell is Nicole Scherzinger? By the way, I am 47, my wife is 51, and that suits me just fine. Best of luck to you.

Well if I were 38 dating a 22 year old. I'd be happy that a younger woman would give me a chance. If we didn't share some common intrests, goals, values etc etc etc I'd probably let her go. Would I marry a 22 yr old yep but I'm 29 sooo..... Anyway Hope this helps a little.

well, I can tell you this - I am 38 and I married a 23 year old, so not a lot of difference there. It's a big gap in age and in life experiences, but so far we have made it work out fine.
From my standpoint, it has made me feel much younger and more exuberant and what guy doesn't want to say that he has a hot young chic warm for his form?
Don't let the naysayers tell you that the age makes a difference - what matters is the love inside, not the age - age is just a number.
Good Luck!

I know you were asking this of the men but I felt like answering it anyways. Guys your age are stupid and selfish. I married my husband when we were both 19 and now we are 30 and things have just started to heat up again. Of course it was great in the beginning when we were young and dumb then through the mid twenties things slowed down because he stopped trying to please me and only thought of getting himself off. Now he all about me and will spend hours just pleasuring me before he even thinks of himself. He is finally a man and not a boy anymore. I say stick with the older men even though I think 38 is a little old for you. As for him, I would think he will get tired trying to keep up with you eventually so I would try to get a little closer to 30 not 40. Good luck!

I'm a 37yr old man dating a 23yr old woman and I much prefer it that way....as everyone else should too. Here are my reasons: us men don't really mature and begin to settle down and feel good about family life until around 35. Women in their 20's mature a lot quicker. The chemistry works out better that way. Also, women age much quicker than men do....so the appearance together can actually make the two look real sophisticated and cool in public.

I imagine most of them would feel lucky...late 30's to mid 40's is typically where "mid life crisis" hits and guys will go after younger chicks to boost their egos, show off to their friends, and prove their virility...

I'd feel lucky....she brings youth to the equation - you bring money to the equation...have some fun. Don't get married...way too many years of separation - big culture clash.
