During the day in the mall or supermarket parking lot would you help them if they are a different race and gender? If no WHY?
If you don't have jumper cables would you allow them to use your cell phone to call someone if they do not have a cell phone?

I just want to know what everyone else thinks... Nothing personal. Me personally I would help. But what about you think about this before you answer. Take care and enjoy your new year. Help thy neighbor.

I am simply asking because this question was asked on the radio this morning. SAFETY is key if it does not feel safe I say use your common sense!!

SAFETY is FIRST no matter what. There are crazies in the world!!!

This is an interesting question.

The race/gender thing has nothing to do with my answer. My own safety does, however.

Most likely, I probably would not help - there are entirely too many wacko's in the world. You NEVER know what you're encountering, or if they actually even HAD car trouble to begin with.

However, I'm not heartless. I would probably ask them if I could call help for them. I would make the call (from my car, doors locked) and would probably head back to let them know who I called and that help was on the way.

Again, I don't want to sound heartless or judgemental, but I would truthfully rather be a little paranoid than in harm's way.

Yes I do that all the time, when I can why just yesterday on my way home from work I stopped on the side of the highway and changed a tire for an elderly black woman. I have the tools and the know how to help in most roadside/parking lot situations, and try to treat everyone as I would want someone to treat my mom or dad if they were in a similar situation,

If I am alone, then no..if my husband is with me, I will push him to go help as he has a lot of knowledge about how cars work I have no problem with whatever race or gender, but I do not know much about cars except that it has seats, steering wheel and a radio :) I will in fact be a hindrance to the person whose car has broken down. Hence I do not even offer to help. I have AAA and I always call them if I need help.

I couldn't help with a car problem but I sure wouldn't mind offering my cell phone. I would need to have an ok feeling about them, I wouldn't want to compromise my safety. If other people are around and we are near to the entrance of the mall it would be ok. Happy New Year to you also!

race play no part in me helping others.
i carry a jumper box in my car, and i charge 5 bucks for the boost.
using cables on your car is bad for the battery.

Where I live I feel its safe to help out a stranded motorist. These days, though, they are more likely to have cell phoned for help already.

I would help. They reason I would is, that I would hope that if I was ever in a tight spot someone would help me.
