You did the best possible thing for your child and removed him from her care. she was your friend and you trusted her. People are really good at fooling other people. As a parent we always feel guilty when something happens to our children because we think that there was something we could have done to prevent it. I would have done the exact same thing that you did. When you have to work it is har because no one can take care of your kids like mommy and daddy. You just try to find the best possible care that you can.
I am sorry that this happened to you and your family, but i think you did the absolutley perfect thing.

We always feel responsible for anything that happens to our children outside of our care. This must be painful for you to think of your baby hurt. I'm so sorry this happened to him.
You did the right thing by removing him and you thought you had made a good choice by leaving him with a friend you thought you could trust to begin with.
I would now call her to tell her you removed him because you don't hit your child and you don't allow anyone else to either. I would then ask your friend to report what she saw to your local child services. Then you need to also. What she did was abuse, especially when she followed it up by leaving him in the street.

I would never use that babysitter again even if she was a friend. No friend of your should treat you child in that manner.
What a @#%^!
Anyways, Maybe if you have to keep your job then you could put you child inday care, at least there is more that one person there, they have regulations to follow! If your job is a bonus then mayby you could quit for now just until you child is in school full time then go back to work.

confront her. Say I have a witness who saw you hit my son and not properly taking care of him and so I am taking him somewhere else to be taken care of. I appreciate that you did watch him for me, but I just feel that I would be more comfortable taking him elsewhere.

I would ask her about it. Then go from there.. If you don't feel comfortable leaving your child with her after talking to her, I wouldn't. It is your responsibilty to keep your child safe.. I know we can't be with our children all the time, but you can't knowingly put your child in a harmful environment.

Its not your fault..people can be one way in front of you and totally diff. when your not around..You need to confront her about it and tell her in no way is that acceptable...and I would end the friend ship...but thats just me

Always know this, no one will love or care for your child better than you can. It doesn't suprise me that she hit him, she doesn't love him like you do and you probably feel like spanking him at times. Raise you own child don't depend on anyone to do it for you. Your job is not more important than your child.
