You should come to my house and listen to my Macaw singing - if you think you're canaries are bad, you'd go home and think they were quiet.
You get birds to enjoy the communication they make with you, if you want to stop them singing, you shouldn't have them in the first place.
I love looking on these websites to help people who genuinely need it - all these stupid replies from others don't help and just annoy real animal lovers.
Swop the canaries for a gold fish!

Canaries chirp, it's how they communicate, and what they do. If they are too noisy, move them to a different room where the sound will not bother you.

put a cover over the cage and they will think it is night ! but don't leave it on too long as that would be cruel CANARIES are meant to sing that's why people get them but I know that it can get annoying as my Father used to have them but he loved to hear them singing all day.

You own an animal that is known for making sound. You need to let your bird act like a bird. If you attempt to force them to be quiet it would be like taping a person's mouth shut (and tying their hands) so they had no way to communicate. Eventually it's going to have an effect on their mental health.
