You'll have to discuss the legal issues with your attorney. I do, however have strong opinions as to what is the right thing to do in this situation. Your child needs both parents. It's not the father's rights you would be giving away, but your child's right to know and spend time with father. Think about it carefully. And having spread your seed, it is your responsibility to financially care for your child, regardless of what the courts say. I believe, however that the courts will hold you to your financial responsibility.

It may not be the Mother's rights about the Father's rights but it is up to the courts to decide if it is right for the Father's to sign his rights away. In most states unless there is a placement father (the mother remarrying) normally he cannot sign over his rights just bacause of child support and if there is child support in place and he is behind regardless of signing over rights he will still have to pay up on that child support until the date his rights were signed over.

If the father does not want to have visitation there is nothing that can compel him to have a relationship with the child (just makes him a self-centered jerk); however, he is still required to pay child support otherwise there are too many jerks out there that would try to get of paying for their obligations by pulling the maneuver.
If the mother wants they guy out of her life and doesn't want the child to have any contact with the guy and the guy agrees to this, he would not have to pay child support.

A father can sign away his rights to a child without the mother's consent, because they are your rights not hers. I cannot honestly say whether or not that you would still have to pay child support, I believe the answer is no but I would check with the state child support enforcement office for your states laws about that. They should also be able to help with signing away your rights to the child.

In the state of GA the father has to pay child support whether you want the baby or not. If you and the mother agree to waive your rights as the father and you legally disclaim him, you are not required to pay. But if she wants money and you are the dad, watch out because here she comes!

If you sign your parental rights away you are no longer considered the childs parent and will never have anything to do with them again. There fore you are not required to pay child support. becuse you no longer have any rights to the child or its well being. Its sad to see this question on here. But i am not here to judge anyone.
