YES ITS TRUE, YOU HAVE TO STAY IN YOUR TARGET HART RATE ZONE, DEPENDING ON YOUR AGE YOUR ZONE WILL BE DIFFERENT. YOU WANT TO BURN FAT NOT STORE IT.RUNNING YOULL STORE FAT AND BURN MUSCLE, TRY FAST WALKING OR JOGGING. CALL A HEALTH CLUB OR FIND OUT ON LINE SEARCH ENGINE WHAT YOUR ZONE HART RATE IS.

You're on the right track (no pun intended). Losing weight is a combination of cutting back calories eaten and burning extra calories. To lose one pound, you must have cut 3500 calories. Thus to lose one pound in a week, you have to cut 500 calories a day (that means you can eat 250 calories less food and burn 250 calories through exercise).

To burn more calories you need a combination of weight training and cardio (weight training to build muscle because muscle will burn more calories even when resting than fat and cardio to burn calories and raise your heart rate).

So by running a total of 6 miles, you are burning 600 calories (one mile=100 calories burned). Combine the running with weight training every other day for 35 minutes and you'll lose weight.

I'm also on a diet--I originally weighed 100lbs and now I'm down to 95 in two weeks because I ran 6 days a week for 35 minutes each and then did weight training for 2-3 times a week for 25 minutes. I combined this with a total calorie intake of 1200 per day. You probably should find out how many calories it takes to maintain your weight and then cut 500 calories off of that per day (through eating less and exercising).

Good luck!

Cardio is the answer to lose weight. I paid over a thousand dollars to a personal trainer and I will tell you what he told me...

1. Eat Correctly ( I would eat 5 to 8 times a day every 2 hours) and I counted each calorie and it never went under 2000 or over 2600 cals. I would have more calories when I worked out with him because he pushed me harder than I pushed myself.

2. Cardio (jogging, walking, elipetical, stairs) no less than 30 no more than 1 hour a day with 90 cruches or so. Switch up your cardio too.

3. Strength training did this 1 to 2 times a week. I worked my arms harder than my legs.

4. Multi Vitamins (not a requirement) but I took the ones my doc recommended me

5. Supplements - I would do a slim fast or a Target/Kroger/Wal Mart generic shake about 2 hours before I worked out.

And I never ate a big meal after I worked out.

I am also female (23) and you and I might be completely different. But I lost around 30 lbs in about 3.5 months. And I am not saying this is the correct answer to lose weight. But I paid a lot of money and this seemed to help me.

Good luck!

Your friends aren't really very correct there. To lose weight, you need to do aerobic activities...such as running. But...it is also important to lift weights, as your friends have told you. Lifting weights makes you look better, but also keeps your muscles in good shape and raises your body's overall metabolism, which will help keep the pounds off.

I don't really know what your friends are talking about, because running is a great way to lose weight and get in shape, plus it works plenty of muscle groups at a time.I would stick with running, if you really feel you are benefiting from it.

The best exercise for weight loss is cardio work. Running is very cardio so the people telling you to lift weights and do pull ups are stupid. That is what you do when you want to tone and and bulk. Any fitness expert will tell you to do cardio for weight loss.

Run 6 days each and every week, artwork as much as a million complete hour of exercising Is working on the treadmill or alongside the line extra constructive? - do no longer count Like drop extra pounds quicker? - What?

running is the best form of cardio for exercise and it helps with weight loss. I would try to combine your running so you do it all at once you need to do cardio workout for 20 minutes or longer to get full benefits. but exercise is the key to weigh loss. strengh training is good for toning but you need the cardio for best weight loss

After seeing this I just have to share something because I spent endless years going from diet to diet without getting any real results until I saw Pams magic plan (just google it). Without doubt its the best results that I have ever had and I have kept it off to this day.

Use a vegetable bean dip including hummus instead of ranch dressing or maybe a fatty cream-based dip.
