Excess air in your digestive tract. Could be from bacteria or fungus (yeast) that converts food into gas, or a chemical process that converts foods into gas. Most likely it's from eating too fast and swollowing without "chewing out" the air in your food.

my mom has this prob and the dr said she was swallowing too much air..hmm not sure how that happens

it could be acid reflux. take pepcid it helps, do you have chest pains with it? If it doesn't get better consult a physician it could be worse.
