Excess air in your digestive tract. Could be from bacteria or fungus (yeast) that converts food into gas, or a chemical process that converts foods into gas. Most likely it's from eating too fast and swollowing without "chewing out" the air in your food.

Swallowing excess air - like when chewing gum.
Or, as in the case of my 5 year old boy, you just feel like making the noise and it's fun!
