this is a small office system with only 4 lines and 2 handsets I need to provide a power invertor for use in power cuts. They range in size from 100 watts - 1000 watts

Actually you may be better off using a UPS rather than an inverter. I previously used a 1000VA APC UPS and I remember that the runtime on it while on battery power was well over 12 hours. Furthermore, this will help prevent dropped calls and the wait time for the system to reboot while transferring from utility power to battery power.

That system takes just a small amount of juice. The rest of the power comes over the phone line. I would would think a 300 watt unit should work.

all you should have to do is provide to the norstar system. If your phones have fetures like hands free or a display they may have a powersupply that provides power for them. If not then all you will need is provide power for the keysystem. If you have a manual for the system it should tell you the power requirements for power up and running.

If you know what norstar system you have it would help a little more.
