do you think the importance of curbing illegal immigration will get back to being a top priority. Do you think that we will truly do something EFFECTIVE at stemming the tide of ALL illegals from all nations and countries or will it be buried?? One more thing, do you honestly agree the a fence should be erected at the entire expanse of the southern US, if not, what in your opinion can we do to truly stem the flooding of illegals into this country and what can we do to the millions of illegals already in this country. Can we deport them, and two parts here, would congress ok it, and second, would it really have that detrimental of an effect on the US economy, or would Americans step in to do those jobs

I can only worry. These folks even beyond the other folks, have been do nothings.

They will waffle on all challenging issues, including immigration problems.

The easiest solution to the Illegal organism problem is that we stop hiring them. That might be possible with the Demo's. Only cuz they want to slam the Repubs. I don't know how many Dems own large biz but that could play into it. We got crooks running our country. They care little for us and more for themselves and those paying their way. Kinda sounds like what America is made of doesn't it?

This is what happens when Capitalism overwhelms Democracy ...and money becomes more important than the principles of balanced, correct living.

Deporting MILLIONS of people is not cost effective; in any way, shape or form. No one is going to deport them, we will give them amnesty - just as we have ALWAYS done for immigrants.
No, the wall is a colossal waste of money, time and energy.

What we need to do is sanction Mexico and other Latin American countries to become self sufficient and to rely upon the natural resources they have! They need to make a solid incorruptible government that the people can rely upon.
If they could trust the cops, and other government officials to do their jobs. If they could draw work into the country due to their natural resources THEN you would see flocks of 'illegals' returning home to live with their own families.

Nothing much will change; a fence would do no good. Get over it. No one gets to have their "own" country anymore, no one gets to have their own "homeland" anymore except the Israeli's, the Japanese and the Chinese because they are a "people". We aren't a "people" we're just a collection of the offspring of former immigrants. This isn't even really a soveriegn nation state anymore because it's not a nation state that can control it's own borders. And I wouldn't want the fence because I'm afraid some crackpot American gov't will use it to keep me IN HERE.

Not a chance. It will be so low on the priority list. Besides, it's too hot and divided of an issue that they don't want to piss people off.

Congress doesn't care what most Americans want. They just want to add people to the voters roles so that they will vote for them.

I doubt they will even build the fence that was passed. Personally I think the fence/wall should extend all across the border.

You are going to get amnesty and no fence. So the problem will not be solved. We went through this same rigermarrow in the eighties and got nothing but amnesty, and more amnesty.

No. The democratic view is the liberal one, and the liberal view of illegals is "these are just people trying to feed their families".

The democrats will focus on redistributing wealth.

I think the Democrats will see to it that it remains a PRIORITY.
Deporting each and every illegal will not harm our economy.
The money they do make is sent back to help their families. It`s definitely not being spent here.
