The reserves are just that, reserves and you can and will be called up in times of emergencies. Having said that I think they are great places to serve your country and still have a private home life, and make some money as well as tuition credits. The AF reserve is very cool and is less likely to be called into direct conflicts unless you are a security police person who may be called to secure air strips in hostile areas. If you want to serve your country its the greatest service to be in, but you are looking for a part time job, try Sears.

I think it's a good deal. The AF really pushes their people on getting an education. Go for and good luck to you.

The pro's far outweigh the cons. But make sure that you choose your AFSC wisely, and stay in 'till you retire..
