Anyone have any tips on how to get hardened ice cream out of the carton? I have arthritis in my wrists and it would be helpful to know how to get the ice cream out of the box easily with a scoop instead of straining my wrists.
Thank you!

Get a heated scoop. There are cheaper ones that fill with hot water. This one heats in the microwave:

Let it set on the counter for about 5-10 minutes to soften a little. Take a cup of hot water and dip the scoop into it before scooping out of the box.

you can let the ice cream sit for a minute outside of the freezer and then scoop from the sides

or you can run the scoop/spoon under some warm water before scooping

Get the Pampered Chef ice cream scoop. It's great!

"Heavy-duty dipper uses the heat of your hand to warm the nontoxic defrosting liquid sealed inside the handle to easily cut through hard ice cream."

I would microwave the ice cream for a few seconds and then it will be soft enough to scoop out of from.

I would suggest microwaving the carton (a few seconds/ minutes depending upon how hard/large the carton is.

Another helpful hint might be to soak the carton in cool water (NOT warm/hot water. I don't know why, but it's a physics thing ...).

I hope this helps.
