Get a heated scoop. There are cheaper ones that fill with hot water. This one heats in the microwave:

Let it set on the counter for about 5-10 minutes to soften a little. Take a cup of hot water and dip the scoop into it before scooping out of the box.

you can let the ice cream sit for a minute outside of the freezer and then scoop from the sides
or you can run the scoop/spoon under some warm water before scooping

I would microwave the ice cream for a few seconds and then it will be soft enough to scoop out of from.

I would suggest microwaving the carton (a few seconds/ minutes depending upon how hard/large the carton is.
Another helpful hint might be to soak the carton in cool water (NOT warm/hot water. I don't know why, but it's a physics thing ...).

run the hot water and rinse your scooper of to make it warm and it will scoop the ice cream out of the carton

let it sit out for a bit, then scoop
or u can wet the ice cream scoop, try warm water. that also helps w/ the scoop process :)
