with any good quality white rum: put about 1-2 tablespoons sugar into the bottom of an old-fashioned glass, add 2 or 3 lime wedges and 5 or 10 fresh mint leaves (no stems). crush lime & mint with sugar using a wooden pestle or muttle. add 1 - 2 shots rum (to taste) and top off with a litte club soda. yummy!
with spiced rum: heat apple cider, add 1-2 shots/8 oz cup, stir with a cinnamon stick. no better way to ward of a cold winter night!

I not real big on Rum. I usually get Bacardi or Captain Morgan Spiced Rum if and when I make a rum drink. I know there many better Rums out there. Now, I will confess; When family or friends go down in the Jamaica area, I ALWAYS have them get me a couple of Rum Cakes. Oh.....man!!! I Pig out and get Drunk! Ha! You would have to eat one of those cakes to know what I talking about.

Best rum to drink is 21 year old El Dorado rum from Guyana (South America). Drink it on the rocks. It's so smooth.

Pusser's or Meyer's rum in a Pain Killer (the official drink of Tortola). I substitute cinnamon for the nutmeg.
Pain killer
3 parts white rum (or golden if preferred)
1 part pineapple juice
1 part orange juice
2 tblsp. coconut cream
Blend at high speed with crushed ice, serve into a tall fancy glass/Hurricane, grate nutmeg on top and garnish with fresh pineapple and orange slices.

When we were in St. Thomas this summer, we drank a lot of Cruzan rum. It is made on St. Croix. It is pretty good. We brought back plenty because of the duty free prices.

Meyer's Dark rum. You can mix it with sprite or coke, with pineapple juice or OJ, with strawberry puree, just about anything.
