When you board the plane and are preparing to taxi, they will ask that you turn off all electrical devices. Once the plane is airborne and has reached an appropriate altitude, they will announce that you can use certain electronic devices, including iPods and laptops. The big no-no is stuff like cell phones and pagers, that use satellites to communicate. But I've flown recently, and I've never been asked to put my music away.

The flight attendant will tell you to turn off all electronic devices, and that INCLUDES iPods (as well as laptops), when the plane is taking off and landing. Once the ok is given when you are safely in the air, however, you can use the iPod all you want!

sure, you may actually take it on an plane, alongside with a pc, a DVD participant, etc. the only issues you may't use for the period of a flight is something that transmits a sign -- something seen "instant." yet -- you may't use the ipod from the time the door is closed till the plane reaches 10,000 ft. they're going to announce whilst it incredibly is okay to apply it. Then, presently till now touchdown (back under 10,000 ft) they're going to announce to instruct off all digital instruments.

Good question...I hope not, I was on a plane a couple of months ago and used mine! No one said anything to me...

I'm guessing its not a problem. It's just an mp3 player...which some cell phones have...and when you put your cell in "airplane mode" you can use the mp3 player still...
