I took 2 'Anadin Extra' about 45 minutes ago for a headache and now have a nasty stomach ache. The ingredients are aspirin, paracetamol, caffeine, E460 and E464, none of which I have an allergy to. Is it possible that the combination of ingredients could have an adverse effect or am I just getting ill and moaning too much?

Could be the aspirin in the medication especially if you are taking it on an empty stomach. I'd call my doctor's office just to be sure. Also when I get very constipated, I get major a headache if I don't get things moving again, ie, lots of water and/or with a laxative.

It could be nothing. This answer is coming from a person who has stomach ulcers, though, so I'm speaking from the point of view of get-help-before-you-die thing, so take it probably a little less seriously than I present it.
Asperin, like ibuprophen and most other "effective" over-the-counter pain relievers, is a blood thinner. If there is a possibility that you could have stomach ulcers, that COULD be a reason your stomach aches. If you've been diagnosed before with ulcers or a bleeding problem, or if you've had surgery on your stomach or other areas of your digestive tract, I would suggest seeing a doctor if your stomach continues to ache for several hours, or if you start showing any signs of internal bleeding (paleness, dizziness, passing out, abdominal pain, black/reddish/tarry stool) call 911 or go to the ER.
However, asperin can occasionally be hard on your stomach even if you're perfectly healthy. Try having something light to eat and some water and see if that helps. Also, make sure you don't take asperin with other OTC pain relievers (other than tylanol).

Well I know when I take any aspirin containing products (especially Excedrin) My stomach will hurt for a long time sometimes hours and hours -It may be an allergic reaction or sensitivity to aspirin

it is either a virus - the stomach ache is another symptom like your headache or the Anadin has made you ill - why don't you ring nhs-direct

i dont think the combo of ingredients could harm u, cuz the med was made that way if u kno what i mean
just rest and try to take a dump

have you had anything to eat before taking those tablets? it could be because your stomach is empty......as far as i know those tablets should be taken with full stomach. Like aspirin is an acid.

, maybe the reason for your headache was because you had problems with your digestive system, and when you have problems with your stomach you always get a headache. or you took them just with water and no food
