I do. I'd hate to have to chase down carts after people all day. That would suck. So I help out.

I feel that it is the responsibility and the moral thing to do is to put the cart in the designated corral. But of course most are rude and just leave them were ever. I have seen them piled in a Handicapped parking spaces. But you cannot make someone have manners and responsibility.

I sure do. And sometimes, if I come across some carts that are just sitting out in the open on my way to where the carts go, i'll take them back too. I work at a grocery store, and i know how the guys that have to go get the carts feel when they have to go chase down the carts.

What gets me is how people just leave them taking up parking spots. when they can take them a few feet to the "caddy"

There's a store in my town that you have to put a quarter in to even get a cart, and you have to return it to get the money back. *its called Aldi's*

Always. I remember all too well working at the local grocery store and having to chase down all those carts. It was no picnic, especially when it was really cold or rainy outside. And it's no fun being griped at by the managers if a cart hit someone's car because a lazy ****** was too inconsiderate to push his cart an extra ten feet into one of the corrals. There's already enough work involved at a retail store without having to chase carts all over the lot.

We have a drive up at our local store. Never have to push a cart past the check out!
At WalMart etc I usually do. I try to park next to the cart return areas so I can do that. (after I unload my mandatory $100 worth of stuff and kids into the car!)

Well in my city all the big grocery stores make you pay for your cart. When you return it to the stalls they interlink and you do get your looney back.
I think it is a great idea. That way there arent a ton of carts all over the parking lot!!

Most of the time I do, just because that's what I was taught. But now they have those "Return Carts Here" areas, so if that's closer or it's raining I'll sometimes just take it there. But I never leave it just out...it can damage someone's car if it's not secured.

Yes. I hate it when I want to pull into a parking space and some lazy xss left their cart it in the middle of it. I can see where if it was a torrential downpour where some wouldn't want to put it up, but jeez. I usually avoid that by parking farther out into the lot. Most of the lazy people won't park out that far.

I do because I will never forget the feeling when as a young married couple our first car had a big scratch and dent from a shopping cart. I never want any one else to experience that.

Well, I usually do, cause it would suck if someone left a cart out there, and i couldnt get around or find one for myself. So i return. But sometimes i dont wanna walk back and return it so i just leave around..but then i feel guilty.

yes... each and every time. In the long run, we are reducing overhead of the supermarkets (which in turn in theory will translate to savings passed on to us), and we are freeing up the store employees who gather the carts so that they can go inside to help bag the groceries, thus translating to quicker service for everyone.
