For something to be organic it has to be grown with out any chemicals or pollution. Which is impossible, where they grow organic foods use to be a farm that used chemicals, they would have to remove all the dirt, use water filtration, air filter etc. So unless something is grown in a building with air, water, light, soil control it can not be truly totally organic.
air is polluted, water is polluted these 2 things carry pollutions and chemicals to ground where "organic" foods still pick it up. Organic is just a label that people use to sell for more money, and if you seen last year congress passed bills to not regulate organic as much in past. making it easy to claim more things organic.

Organic means anything made, processed, or grown naturally w/ o the use of chemicals, pesticides, or hormones. This can be anything from food to clothing, and applies to any part of the process- from giving hormones to cows, to genetically engineering your vegetables, to treating clothing (usually for children, to make them more breathable, less allergens, etc.)

When talking about plants, it is real plants grown in real dirt in a real environment without the use of pesticides or other chemicals...when talking about other foods like meat, it comes from an animal that was fed real food...not steriods or growth hormones.
