I've seen a specialist and they cannot really find a reason. I have tried every possible treatment on the market. My hair is so fine in places that I'm guessing that any hair extensions or whatever would have to be subtle and carefully applied, and I'm guessing it would be expensive to maintain. I just really need to know the best people to approach for someone in my position.

try massaging ur scalp twice aday with a very small amount of olive oil, the nutients helps to stimulate the scalp and improve the hair to grow back, secondly try not too over stress about it, stress is the biggest thing to cause baldness/ hairloss. If you do want a wig i say try going to a proper shop where they sell human hair wigs as they can get the most natural look for you! if ur after extentions go to a good salon and nowhere "cheap" as they can look horrible and fall out quickly! please dont stress though and i hope the massaging helps, if not might be worth going to a doctor or hairdressers for advice

Try looking for hair dressers that specialize in working with women who have thinning hair. You might start with looking up salons that work with cancer patients. Check out a few salons in person and ask if you can have a consultation. Trust your intuition and find a place you feel comfortable.

Extensions or a weave may help. You may also consider getting a shorter, fluffy haircut with some highlights to add the illusion of depth.

If you haven't already done so, please see a physician and have your thyroid checked. Note: Propecia is used to treat alopecia but has serious side effects.

I have a friend with fine, thinning hair who uses Nioxin (http://www.nioxin.com) & likes it.

I've listed a few websites that might help. Good luck.

OK, firstly, DO NOT get hair extensions as this will only ruin the hair you have. try phoning around your local salons and explain your problem to them as most good salons will offer a course of treatments that can prove very effective or that may be able to recommend products for you to use at home. for now though i would avoid putting you hair under any strain, eg. colouring or straightening it, or even tying it up too tight. good luck.

Hi

Have you seen Gail Porter recently? It was only when she went totally bald (she has alopecia) that I realised how beautiful she is. It won't hurt to give it a go, how about shaving it off for charity? And there are some really funky bandanas out there for those chilly days! Remember, if there's no hair there, there's no hair to worry about!

just go to a good hair dresser who knows what they are doing or do some research first: go to lots of different hair dressers n see which one you think sound most suitable is cheapest and seems to no what to do in this suituation!!

if you cnt afford it invest in some nich hats n them bandana scarf things n make sure that you try you hardest to make everything else look nice eg. wear nice make-up, clothes, jewlery, handbags n shoes.

ive also seen some nice wigs too!!

I've always said if I were to lose my hair - I'd shave my head, wear some beautiful earrings, and make-up. Demi Moore pulled it off - perhaps you can too. I know it's hard for women - our hair is so important to us, but why? Have some confidence regardless.

Sorry to hear about your "problem",
I knew a woman who's hair fell out,
she was really stressed about it for
nearly a year as nothing was working,
but when she got used to it, and stopped
stressing, it grew back , and she's got a full head of
hair again now........good luck.

Sounds like alopecia to me, which can be diagnosed by your primary care doctor, no specialist needed. The medicine Propecia works for alopecia.

Sometimes peoples hair fall out because of stress. Also some people loose hair if they have cancer I think.
