Yes, there is a currency exchange in the main terminal. They keep fairly restricted hours so if you are passing through in the evening, they might not be open. Also their exchange rates are not very favorable so I'd recommend changing only a little money, enough for your cab fare to the hotel and a little spending money, then looking for a currency exchange closer to your hotel so you can get a better value.

Yes, Every terminal will have a desk/booth where you can exchange currency. Most of them will be Travelex. Some will be American Express.
Be adivsed you pay quite a heafty commison to these exchanges. If it make you feel better you could get a very small amount of currency at JFK and then the rest at an ATM in your destination country. But dont get alot as you are paying almost a 10% or more surcharge.

Yes you can.
Typically all international airports in the US offer this service, though for amounts over $300 they may not be able to help you (this happened to me converting US Dollars to Korean Won in DFW a few years back), so you'd be better off going to a bank for larger amounts.
Terminals in JFK that offer this service:
Terminal 1
Terminal 2
Terminal 3
Terminal 4
Terminal 5
Terminal 8
Terminal 9
Tower Air

international airports have money exchange vendors but you may get a better deal at your destination -- asuming you are flying out of US to another country
AND airport exchange is for convenience -- you will get a better deal at a money changer and not at airport and not a bank either
