You have a weird friend.

Some people are just flat picky. She sounds like she may be one of them. I'm sure the dog was excited to see you, and the owner might have been a little jealous. Who knows...my dogs are happy to see people, and someone can say their names as loudly or quetly as they want, they will still come to them.
This girl may have a few issues. She may be the problem here, not the poor dog.

Your friend needs to stop being so easily offended with her dog. It was nice of you to buy a coat for the dog, and she should have thanked you instead of scolding you.

some people are just freaks. They think they are doing whats right for the dog but I promise you that dog will grow to have issues. Big issues.
I bet you that dog is the dominant one in that relationship. It's sad but remember she is still your friend.

Some people just treat them like kids.

I admit I get a little protective of my cat when my boyfriend rough houses with him. Even though the cat is obviously fine.

It's just... You feel like you're responsible for them. I wouldn't take it too personally.

That's mean! I would tell her to bugger off!
Sorry to say but your friend sounds like a drama queen of the highest degree!

She sounds jealous and insecure. She isn't wanting to share the dog's affection with anyone.

You sound like a sweet heart and your friend has no graces and did not have to be so rude about it
