Sure. Did you know that the tribe Jesus is said to descend from wore dreads? EDIT: Titania, there are no cultures whose ancestors did not have dreadlocks. Go back far enough and there are no combs. Various European traditions involve dreads. Hindu traditions involve dreads...etc. It is not cultural appropriation to have a hairstyle.

If you hair is curly just twist locks of hair around your finger a couple of times a day, but do not comb or brush your hair. And stay downwind of people with a good sense of smell.
