I think 16 is a good age to let girls start going on dates with boys by themselves depending on their maturity how much you trust your child.

Before that no dating before 13 and only group dates to places like the movies, bowling alley etc. between 13 and 16. This will teach the teen how to interact with peers and help her decide what kind of guys she would date.

Even at 16 a close eye should be kept on the girl and especially the guys she is dating. Boys that age mostly have sex on their minds and tend not to be on the same maturity level.

She has the rest of her life to deal with men/dating, etc. Don't rush it!!

First it depends on how young and what constitutes dating?
Girls in an age range from say 12-14 dates should be with groups and appropriately supervised.. not policed mind you.
Once they start think about sex.. lock them in their rooms! LOL
In all seriousness dating and relationships are learned. The sooner you can deal with straight talk the better. While Kids, may appear to think that adults are stupid... they still look to us for answers.
Present them guidance in a positive nurturing way. If you force your ways.. they tend to rebel.

P.S... hopefully we all learn from our mistakes. They will make some... you cant stop that and really you shouldn't. Some mistakes may hurt a bit but in the long run can be beneficial.
What you can do is guide them away from disasters.

Good Luck, and God Bless

I would say no earlier than 16, but maturity level is also a factor. I don't think girls under the age of 16 really understand what dating and having a relationship involves.

I'm a mom of a 12 year old and I say NEVER!! ok j/k, I think maturity plays a role and whether she is emotionally ready and knows how to be safe. I would say 16, but parents should be aware of and meet the person she is dating. The world is a crazy place these days, and keeping kids safe and happy is important.

It really depends on how mature she is. My parents let me start dating at age 16; however, I don't think I was mature enough. When I have children, I'll probably wait to let them date until I know for sure that they are ready.
