Italy and France. I live in Italy. I have travelled all over. Someone says Italy's cuisine is repetitive? Yes, it's true. Therefore, I love the French food better, except for the little creatures on the seafood plateau they server in Nantes. However, I just came back from Indonesia and the variety of food there is amazing!! I didn't miss Italy as always was the case, whenever I lived in other countries such as S. Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, S. Arabia etc. But now, I read that Bulgaria has great food as well? I'd like to try that too!

Many people here are saying Italy, and I have to agree the food there was really good, but I was also cooking at a friend's and in a week and Rome, I didn't go to a single restaurant and was told there and also by another friend in Milan that restaurants in Italy are expensive and not that good.
If you want to eat only local food, then France, Italy or Spain for sure. But in London, Amsterdam or Berlin you can find excellent restaurants with food from all around the world. Plus, almost every major city around the world will have good Italian and French places, so you really don't need to go there to get that kind of food, whereas you will be harder pressed to find good Indian or Asian food in Italy or France compared to in England or Holland.
I've been to some pretty good places in Prague as well, not the best but the price was alright.

Sorry Thomson this is an absolutely unanswerable question - and as a travel company you know this.
We may just as well say to you which is the best place to go on holiday!!!
Before anyone can answer we need to be given the full facts -
1 Do you like seafood
2 Are you vegetarian
3 Do you like spicy food
4 Do you like salads
5 Are you restricted by diatary needs (either medical or voluntary)
However I would say that no-one can cook like a native, so when in Rome etc etc
However should you need someone to travel round and sample all the different cuisine offered throughout Europe and give you an advised opinion (in the name of research of course), I am more than willing to put myself forward as a guinea pig for your company - al expenses paid of course!!!
Happy holidays

Well it all comes down to your personal preferences and taste doesn't´t it. Now days you can get all kinds of food in every country, italian food in France, french cuisine in Sweden, Greek food in the UK etc.
So sometimes one gets confused of what actually is the country's cuisine. My best meal been in Italy at a French restaurant. The worsts in France at French restaurants.

Bulgarian food is certainly an asset to European cuisine. Home made traditional food is really good mostly because of the genuine taste of the vegetables, eggs, milk, local Bulgarian yogurt.
Bulgaria has a varied relief - mountains, rivers and seaside, therefore the food is rich in regional varieties: salads (shopska), soups, meat dishes, local salami (lukanka), sheep's milk cheese, fish, etc. Lots of tasty vegetarian dishes (roast peppers for instance). Traditionally not rich in sweets and desserts, but catching up quickly.
To get the real taste, you need to visit people's homes.

Having spent Christmas in Albufeira, I can certainly say it is not Portugal. Everywhere there are pictures of food and signs for all day breakfasts and their claim to fame of Sardines and Piri Piri are nothing to write home about but on a recent trip to Krakow the food was fantastic - the local dumplings and soups were exceptional and would highly recommend them even the plain old toasted sandwich was out of this world - nothing like our toasties!

Well, sorry to disagree with at least 2 people here but it has to be France. While may think it's old-fashioned, it is the variety and complexity that make it the best food in the world. It is hard, even for someone who has lived in France, to be able to appreciate it entirely, as what makes it great are the regional specialities and differences. My personal favorite is the South-West cuisine, very rich but so delicious!
Problems with Italian food is that it doesnt have this diversity, and this is well illustrated by the first answer: pizza and pasta. I know this is not limited just to that but unlike French cuisine, I find it a bit repetitive (I still like it though).
