My best friend's daughter is at an age (13) where she's getting curious about boys. She doesn't feel comfortable talking to her mom about it so she is asking me. I don't want to give her wrong info and don't know what to tell her. I have told her that its best to go to her mom and talk to her, but I don't think she will. She is very afraid of her mom. I would rather her come to me than get bad advice from someplace else. What are some ways to get a young boy to notice her and like her? I know she's young, but she just wants to talk on the phone and hold hands not date or kiss or anything.

I can see how that could be a tough situation. She's not your kid, but you care about her. You want her to be safe, but still have fun.

When I was that age, it seemed that guys liked girls who were confident, happy, friendly, etc.

As long as she's not fashion impared (hair, makeup, clothing, etc), she may just need help in the "Confidence with Guys" area... Help her become suavy to some of the cheesy lines guys will use to "get what they want", help her be wise about self defense, but no so much that she scares the boys off.

Best of luck!!

better tell her that the boys have a sausage and want to put it between their legs. and that she shouldn't let them do that.

basic sex education is called for here. and some stern warnings about how it can ruin your life if you get preg. and how the "boy" will just leave her if she does. (at that age.)
