Patrick AFB, FL is a pretty good base. Its a Space Command base and you support the shuttle launches.

You're right on the Atlantic. Beach 1.5 blocks from dorms. River on back side of dorms.

A lot to do in the area. Miami, Orlando, Daytona.

Fairchild is nice if you like cold.

Luke is nice if you like hot.

Beale is nice if you like California (though high cost of living)

Ramstein is nice if you want to travel all of Europe

Aviano is nice if you want to travel Europe but focus more on Italy and Eastern Europe

The bases in Japan are supposedly fairly nice, though I've never visited them.

I would avoid: Keesler, Maxwell, and anything in England (just didn't find England so much fun when I lived there... too much gray weather and buildings)

EDIT: oh, yeah... McDill, FL, is nice. I wouldn't go to Vegas. Hickam, Hawaii, is a great base, though that's also one of the most competitive to get assigned to.

Really depends on what your job is going to be, and how well you score during your tech school. My suggestion is to first think about getting through basic training, and get into a career field which will lead to a great job when you are discharged. Then you get through the tech school with high marks. When you do all that, you usually get a choice of one of three bases, based on your grades.
Good luck.

There are some bases with a lot of strippers, drinks and beautiful beaches. People are friendly. There are all located in Heaven, but I guess you are to young for those. That's why you joined, to have fun?

I toured McDill in Florida. It seemed more like a resort than and Air Force base. Thats the one I would pick.

I would say Japan would be really nice especially if you are single, perferably Kadena AB or Yokota AB. It all depends on your rank and careerfield where the Air Force need you the most.

You want to be sent to a base with a lot of money. Put down Major Command bases like Langley AFB, VA (ACC HQ), or Scott AFB, IL (AMC HQ).

You will soon learn, in the military you can ask for anything. Getting it, isn't that easy.
You will also learn, that once you join. You are now U.S. Air Force property, to do with as they see fit.
Enjoy.
