I have no problems with other peoples beliefs, though I may not agree with them or how they present it to the world. I still feel it's not a problem for you to believe what you want. So it's difficult for me to understand how intolerant some can be about other peoples beliefs.

Crazy horse, I read that in another question and I agree fully!!!

To the person who said I have been sold a lie.....Prove it. And the bible isn't proof of much except that there were some literate people 2000 years ago. The bible was written long after Jesus died. None of us were there and I believe that a lot of what Jesus 'said' has been warped, misquoted and misinterpreted.

All of science is theory, which means that you have to have faith in it to believe in it. This is proven in the fact that there are people who don't believe in Evolution. There is proof that in theory sounds right, though it hasn't been proved. These people DON'T believe in science, proving that you need faith to believe in it, just like having faith in God. Though there is a lot more imperical evidence to prove the theory of gravity then the the existence of God.

This is Why!!!

Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, gives thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).

2. Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.

3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.

4. Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.

5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.

6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all; the honor of one is the honor of all.

7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.

8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.

9. To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget you’re most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.

10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.

11. Know those things that lead to your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction.

12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.

Wahoo!!!

The first poster is right ... there is no good karma or bad karma, there's just karma. Karma is just the principle of reaping what you sow ... cause and effect. When you pay off your karmic debts, you get to jump off the cycle of samsara ... you no longer have to come back and try to get things right. Some proponents of reincarnation believe that you only come back as a human, once you've made it that far. Other beliefs say you can be reborn into a lower realm of existence, including the animal realm. Still others say being reborn into those realms is purely metaphorical. But to answer your question to the best of my knowledge ... an ant would have no self-consciousness, but it could still suffer as a result of past karmic deeds when it existed as a higher being. A kid could burn up the ant under a magnifying glass, its anthill could get squashed by someone's tires, or it could become an anteater's breakfast. Stuff like that. You pay off those debts and then work your way back up the reincarnation food chain, so to speak. I don't believe in any of this, but I know a little about it from having studied Hinduism and (mainly) Buddhism.

The world is made up of all different types of people, and issues such as the ones you mentioned have created argument and debate for thousands of years.
A lot of people seem to think they are the only ones with the right beliefs, and if their faith is strong enough then I guess it's enough to make them believe yours are wrong.
Also if some people have no faith in anything, then they are just as likely to deny yours.
I think faith and lack of it also go hand in hand - maybe it's a part of the whole plan for those with it to prove they have it.

I have no problem -- you can believe anything you want to, as long as you keep it to yourself.

However, if you try to promote your beliefs as "truth" or teach them as "science" then I have a problem. Either of those things require that there be objective, observable, verifiable, and falsifiable evidence as to the legitimacy of your claims. There is no such evidence for belief in god, reincarnation, and karma. That you put "science" in there as a "belief" shows me that you don't understand "science." Science is a rational evaluation of evidence to arrive at a natural conclusion -- supposed supernatural forces, which are not testable, verifiable, or falsifiable, have no place in science.

I would point out to you that you have BELIEFS which are not based on evidence. You're certainly free to hold those beliefs. You're not free to promote them to others as something they're not -- that's fraud. :)
Peace.

If I said that I was the greatest wide receiver in professional football history, you would ask me to prove it.

People will have no issue with you believing in God as soon as you inspire in their hearts a belief they can see and trust.

Do you also call Jesus intolerant because he said:

" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6)

" Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)

Again people just want to be right, there are too few people like you so don't change, we need to change them.

They need to learn that we can all live together and get along and still disagree on things.

I say live and let live. Just because you believe in those things and I don't doesn't make any difference to me.
